Oh, Sweet Pea!

We got a new kitten. Totally unplanned and unexpected, and probably not what we should have done, but how many of you actually plan on getting a new pet? Ours have always been a bit spontaneous. Anyway, due to husband/wife communication error, then clearing up, and permission of course, we got a cute little girl kitten. I wanted to name her Sprinkles (yes, from The Office). Zach said no, so I tried for Monkey (yup, still TO). No dice. Since we didn't have anything to call her, Zach called her Sweet Pea once. That was it, According to Austin, that's what we should call her. And you know you can't change a 4 year old's mind once they decide something. At least not without wailing, whining, and great big crocodile tears. So, unofficially it's Sweet Pea. Not that we're working very hard to find anything else.

Couldn't get a good picture due to the black chair and two little boys climbing all over me, but you get an idea of the size difference. (Plus this one was taken with my old camera. :) ) Boomer is HUGE, SP, not so much.

Sweet Pea has been a fun addition to the house. Despite the size difference, she beats up on Boomer and has chased him around more than once. Yet another reason I don't believe the kid that called Boomer "The Mean Cat." Austin likes the idea of the kitten, but freaks out when she gets too close. Sam on the other hand, love her. He's always trying to play with her and he has the kitten scratches on his hands to prove it. He really likes playing with her with the feathers on a stick.
